Harding And Coolige Essays - Warren G. Harding, Calvin Coolidge
Harding And Coolige The two former presidents Warren G. Harding and Calvin Coolige were alike in some ways and different in others. President Harding was a news paper owner from Ohio. He was chosen as the Rep. candidate after serving as an Ohio senator. Calvin Coolige was the Vice-president at the time of Warren Harding's death. Coolige fished the rest of Harding's term and then was re-elected. President Coolige followed Harding's policies when finishing his term, but after re-election he began to make some of his own. Harding focused on trying to settle the nation back into peace. He tried to ensure this peace by making treaties and disarmament acts. Harding also tried to lower taxes, take care of war veterans, protect farmers, and collect wartime debts owed to the U.S.. However Harding was not prepared to face the huge problems of the presidency. He made the mistake of appointing some of his Ohio friends to high ranking positions. The men he appointed were involved in many scandals and money stealing. Calvin Coolige like Harding was an admirer of American business. They both believed that business should mainly be left alone without government interference. Coolige especially believed business would be less profitable with more regulation. He also believed, unlike Harding, that nothing could be done to help the U.S. farmers. Coolige vetoed many bills designed to help farmers, like the McNary-Haugen bill, by saying "Farmers have never made much money and I don't believe we can do much about it" . These two presidents were also very different when it came to their personalities. Harding was laid back and likable, always playing cards with his friends and smoking cigars. Coolige, on the other hand, was very quite plain and thrifty. He said very little, earning him the nickname "Silent Cal." These two presidents were more different than alike. They shared only a few views and had very different personalities.

After all, the purpose of the assignment is to determine whether or not your essay is attractive to the reader, is accurate, and if it meets the college's requirement for merit-based acceptance. In this article, I'll go over a few tips for making sure your destination college essay stands out from the crowd. The first goal is to make sure that your essay is on topic. Essays are written based on a topic. You can write an essay that describes the school and the people at the school, but this will probably be difficult to sell to the readers. Therefore, it is important to make sure that you write an essay that is about a topic that will sell to the reader. There are many ways to accomplish this goal. One way is to give your audience something that they do not already know about your campus. You could talk about the many different things that can be found on the campus and the various ac tivities that take place. You could also write about a major campus project, which will bring in readers who are interested in majoring in that subject area. One way to make sure that you draw in the readers is to focus on a single aspect of your campus or to tie your topic into your main points.Another goal of a destination college essay is to make sure that your essay makes the readers want to read on. For example, if you are writing an essay about the campus's diversity, it would be important to use words and phrases that appeal to readers. For example, 'Many students find the choice of food on campus's menus to be intriguing. Many of these students would like to see changes made to the menu to ensure that everyone feels comfortable with the foods they eat.'In addition to being interesting to readers, there is another important goal of a destination college essay. The purpose of the essay is to determine whether or not the writer is appealing to the college's reader base. This go al is often called the 'merit' goal. Although it is common for the campus to develop a general sense of who should be accepted, this is not always the case. Therefore, it is important to make sure that your essay gives the reader the impression that you meet the college's 'merit' requirements. As you are reading through the essay, pay attention to how you make the reader feel. Sometimes you will simply notice how the writer feels while reading. Other times, you will find that you get a strong sense of what the reader wants out of the essay. You can use this feeling as a guide for determining what kind of reader you are. This can help you know what kind of essay you should be writing. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to the feelings of the reader throughout the essay. These are just a few tips for making your destination college essay stand out from the crowd. Essay Topics For Something That Involves Specialized Knowledge
Essay Topics For Something That Involves Specialized KnowledgeWriting an essay for something that involves specialized knowledge is not difficult. If you take the time to learn the rules of this subject, you'll have the confidence to impress your professor and impress your peers in this ever-important academic pursuit. The first thing you must understand is that it's fine to cover general knowledge in an essay. However, the more advanced the subject, the less likely it is that your fellow students will be able to relate to your topic. Likewise, the more technical a topic is, the less likely it is that your teacher will be able to appreciate the insights your essay brings to the table.Because special knowledge has been specifically selected as the subject of your essay, it's easy to choose a topic that will speak to a specific group of people. As such, even if you're writing an essay about something that doesn't pertain to your area of specialization, it's still good to write about it. By being specific about what you have to say, you are more likely to appear as an expert on your subject. For example, if you're writing an essay about a specific topic, whether it's something involving medical science or astronomy, you should write it from the perspective of someone who is involved in that particular field. This way, your opinion is very well related to the larger population you are targeting. If your essay comes across as insincere, that impression won't have any impact whatsoever.Additionally, if you are writing about a subject that's more related to a general interest of yours, you should also consider writing about it from the perspective of a person who is particularly interested in that field. For example, if you are writing an essay about boxing, you may want to include some information about the best fighters in the world and their backgrounds. These details can help set you apart from the rest of the crowd. Even if you're trying to impress a professor, thi s sort of essay will help you seem well informed.Other essay topics for something that involves specialized knowledge include history, religion, politics, and more. This is where things can get tricky, however. If you are writing a paper about one of these subjects, you need to make sure you explain your point of view in the most clear and concise way possible. After all, if you want to impress the professor and win his/her approval, you need to present your topic in a way that makes it easy for him/her to understand. You need to do that without making yourself look like an amateur or trying to outsmart the professor by going overboard with what you are talking about.

The Ultimate Strong Verbs List Thatll Instantly Supercharge Your Writing
The Ultimate Strong Verbs List Thatll Instantly Supercharge Your Writing 249 Strong Verbs Thatll Spice Up Your Writing Do you ever wonder why a grammatically correct sentence youââ¬â¢ve written just lies there like a dead fish? I sure have. Your sentence might even be full of those adjectives and adverbs your teachers and loved ones so admired in your writing when you were a kid. But still the sentence doesnââ¬â¢t work. Something simple I learned from The Elements of Style years ago changed the way I write and added verve to my prose. The authors of that little bible of style said: ââ¬Å"Write with nouns and verbs, not with adjectives and adverbs.â⬠Even Mark Twain was quoted, regarding adjectives: ââ¬Å"When in doubt, strike it out.â⬠Thatââ¬â¢s not to say thereââ¬â¢s no place for adjectives. I used three in the title and first paragraph of this post alone. The point is that good writing is more about well-chosen nouns and strong verbs than it is about adjectives and adverbs, regardless what you were told as a kid. Thereââ¬â¢s no quicker win for you and your manuscript than ferreting out and eliminating flabby verbs and replacing them with vibrant ones. How To Know Which Verbs Need Replacing Your first hint is your own discomfort with a sentence. Odds are it features a snooze-inducing verb. As you hone your ferocious self-editing skills, train yourself to exploit opportunities to replace a weak verb for a strong one. At the end of this post I suggest a list of 249 vivid verbs you can experiment with to replace tired ones. Want a copy of the 249-verb list to read, save, or print whenever you wish? Click here. What constitutes a tired verb? Hereââ¬â¢s what to look for: 3 Types of Verbs to Beware of in Your Prose 1. State-of-being verbs These are passive as opposed to powerful: Is Am Are Was Were Be Being Been Have Has Had Do Does Did Shall Will Should Would May Might Must Can Could Am I saying these should never appear in your writing? Of course not. Youââ¬â¢ll find them in this piece. But when a sentence lies limp, you can bet it contains at least one of these. Determining when a state-of-being verb is the culprit creates a problem- and finding a better, more powerful verb to replace it- is what makes us writers. [Note how I replaced the state-of-being verbs in this paragraph.] Resist the urge to consult a thesaurus for the most exotic verb you can find. I consult such references only for the normal word that carries power but refuses to come to mind. I would suggest even that you consult my list of powerful verbs only after you have exhausted all efforts to come up with one on your own. You want Make your prose to be your own creation, not yours plus Roget or Webster or Jenkins. [See how easy they are to spot and fix?] Examples Impotent: The man was walking on the platform. Reflection Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words - 23
Reflection - Essay Example The development of the sporting activity was promoted by the technological advancement after the world war two, it was further supported by the car industry involvement in the sporting activity like Ford. From the video, it is relatively clear that the sporting activity was promoted by the increased interest of the teenagers in Southern California from the year 1937. These were further promoted by the development of the southern California timing association that was involved in organizing events. Young people in schools were crazy with the sporting activities with each student wanting to own a car. Those who had cars spent most of their time in the garage to ensure that they had working cars that can be used for car racing. The parents and the authorities could not be able to stop the behaviour that was getting rampant among youths in South California. It can be said, with relative conviction that the current view of the sporting activity is different from what people thought of it in the past. The drag racing had gained a bad reputation among parents, police and media. This was due to the fact there were a number of accidents that were involved at that time. The fatal one was when Bruce, Nick and Dennis lost their lives while racing in Los Angeles. Further the activity was not a sport, hence did not get that attention of a sporting activity. The racing activity attracted people who were there just there for fun. For instance, at this time, there was no timing of the events, there were no prices given to the winners and entrance fee. People participated just to win and have fun. Thus, I think that that was the reason as to why there was a poor reputation of the sporting adding to the fact that there were a number of road accidents associated with it. The period post-World War II, gave rise to more sophisticated cars that were developed from the then technological advancement. Most vehicle producing companies had invested in
